I'm getting "You don't have permission to access /100434.html on this server." for the SG-1 Slash list.

Thanks! I'd neglected to change it from "Me Only" to "Friends". :-)

Which is why it's always nice to have others look at it. :-)

I've been doing beta work on a new website for the library as well as sending emails with massive amounts of beta feedback to our online catalog vendor.

I think I'm stuck in beta mode now. Much to the vendor's lament. *g*

I think the pages will work fine for what you need, and then those links can be put in your link list (and maybe your bio in the profile?) and you'd be good to go.

The only other things I can think of are if you want to include ratings on the fic list, and I know some do a "date first published" notation as well.

Some readers like to glom a new to them author in date order, but as an author it's sometimes interesting to see your own writing progression.

The categories give good hints about what the rating might be, but I've seen "first time" vary widely in ratings depending on whether or not the author does a "fade to black" or "it's pornin' time!" for sex scenes. *g*

Excellent points!

I don't know that I have all the first published dates, but I'll see what I can find. I like the idea.

Ratings! I knew I was forgetting something. :-)

I just realized I need to include my OTPs, too.

I'd probably just put the Master link in my bio. That would limit the places I'd need to maintain. Though, eventually, that might be where my Master list is maintained, anyway.

You can probably cheat on the OTP listing by stating on each fic page "My OTP is ___/___, so assume that pairing unless otherwise stated."

It's fun to organize computer stuff, isn't it? That's actually one thing that's working out with the part-timer. He likes organizing the shelves, which I loathe, while I like doing catalog updates and repairs, which I wouldn't let him get close enough to touch with a 10-foot pole. Balances out.

When I had to go to the workshop on how to maintain the library's website, I kept getting funny looks from the guy in charge because almost everything he was explaining, I'd already done. Including reorganizing the "flow" of page accessibility.

Everyone else was dreading that part, while I was just killing time while in a pre-migraine state and not wanting to do anything else. I sometimes become hyperfocused when I'm pre-migraine.

My best friend says it can be rilly rilly scary to witness. She can't decide if that's worse than when I'm drugged to the gills to the point of being downright giddy. *g*

I love to *design* the stuff. I really hate doing the scut work of putting all the data in.

I bore easily. :-)

Still, it's my stuff, so I should be the one doing it. I'll start with everything that's currently linked in my link list and then branch out to whatever I've failed to include. :-)

Oh, good!

I didn't want to put too much into it until I got some feedback on the general layouts. ;-)

You might want to put "originally posted" dates on the entries, range of dates for series like ITCOM.

Yeah, [info]niall42 just suggested 'first published' dates. At least The Cartouche will have some of those for me. :-)

Oh, yeah! That's a great one.

I really love having librarians on my flist. :-)

Hee!

I actually do have a Masters, but am not working as a librarian. Except on my LJ recs pages. ;-)

Sometimes being a librarian is a state of mind and not a state of education. ;)

Lookin' good!

The only thing I can think of to add is "Author's Notes." Or you might just want to include it on some fic. I use it to mention a fic was written for someone, or for a ficathon, or maybe that it was based on someone else's story or something "special" about the fic. If nothing else, it can make your list lest listish and let your personality come through a little. When everyone has lists of stuff, this (one's personality) at least sets one list apart from the others.

That's a good point. (And one of the major reasons I wanted to get this seen before I did all the data entry. ;-) Thanks!

I think [info]nialla42 already made the main suggestions I would.

When I find a new writer, I generally go through their fics in one of two ways:
I read them in season order if I'm up to date on the shows and season orders are given, or if I'm not up to date and want to be able to stop before I hit spoilers. So if your stories are season-specific, please list season (but I think most of yours aren't). (You say OCD like it's a bad thing.)
If the stories aren't written for specific seasons, I usually like to read in the order they were written (as Nialla says).

And yes to ratings.

I really like that you've included the word count and the description or summary; I've seen lots of people leave this off masterlists, and I find this information very useful in deciding my priorities (if I don't have a date order or have limited time).
[info]tejas wrote:

Word count is of huge importance to me. I will *always* go for the longer fic first.

Unless I don't for some other reason. ;-)

But mostly, longer gets read first. ;-) And I always like some idea of what the thing's *about*. :-)

Seasons is a good point, though. Most of mine are S7, but there are some that aren't, or that span seasons.

I ran into you once at Fanficrants, and again today on darkchristian, and recognized your user name/ icon, so I jumped over here. I LOVE your fics (what I've read of them) and I would like to be friends.

Glad you like! Honestly, I did it originally for me because I was never sure where all my fic was. :-) Now, at least, I can keep my index up and, hopefully, not lose any. :-)

On the other hand, I've had a number of people tell me they love being able to easily find stuff. ;-)
